A message from the Homecraft Section re the 2012 Show:
THE SCHEDULE WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM JUNE ONWARDS.

As we lead up to the show here are a few things that you may want to keep in mind if you are thinking about entering any of our competitions:

Please read carefully the Rules and Regulations on page 3 of the schedule.

Please read the schedule closely for presentation, especially with the preserves and cookery classes.

E.G. All entries in the preserves section are not to be less than ½lb, labelled, dated and with no commercial lids, your chutney should be mature and your welsh cakes must be plain edged and not sugared.
Please make sure that you allow enough time to drop off your items for judging early in the morning – we need to have all items in the tent by 9:30 am ready for judging to start promptly at 10:00am. This time of the morning is a particularly busy time with many, many people arriving on the show field so please allow for traffic and queuing at the ticket gates. Re-admission passes to get back into the show may be obtained from the Main Pedestrian Gate. Ask for a special wrist band.

In the homecraft tent we run a raffle which sells tickets from 12:00pm until the raffle draw at 16:00. Please support our tent and try and get a winning ticket for the generous prizes that have been donated.

Calling all novices: We have different novice classes in the homecraft tent these include :

Class 8; An arrangement using flowers and foliage – space 2ft width and depth.
Class 20; The boiled fruit cake

Class 25; The lemon drizzle cake

Class 43; An item of any stitchwork

This year we have included a few new classes:
Class 17; Jar of stoned fruit jam

Class 52; A metal craft item

We thank the generosity of Mrs Anne Jones who has kindly donated The Perpetual Shield for the Combined display section in the memory of her mother Mrs Rita Jones who was a loyal supporter of the show for many years.

We also thank the generosity of Peter and Jan Clarke who has kindly donated a shield for the primary school that wins the most points overall in the Junior section competitions.

We are always looking for new members who either want to join our committee to help plan and prepare throughout the year or to help with the stewarding, where we monitor the tent and the exhibits, or sell raffle tickets on show day itself. If you are at all interested please don’t hesitate to contact any committee member.

We are looking forward to seeing you and your entries on show day!
