LORD RAGLAN. RIP

It is with regret that we report the death of our Patron - Lord Raglan.

FitzRoy John Somerset, 5th Baron Raglan (1927–2010)

Usk Farmers Club are sad to report the death of Lord Raglan on 25th  January.  Lord Raglan was extremely well known, well liked and very well respected within the local farming community.  He had been the Patron of Usk Farmers’ Club, and hence Usk Agricultural Show for over 25 years, and indeed the Show is now held on ground which Lord Raglan once owned.  He will be sadly missed by his many friends not only within the Farmers’ Club, but also in the many other organisations of which he was a part, both locally and nationally.  His entries, and wins!!, in the Marmalade classes of the Homecraft section at the Show will be missed, as will the many Fork Suppers held at Cefn Tilla
We would like to pass our condolences to his family, and also those people who were close to him and supported him at Cefn Tilla over many years.

Lord Raglan, a man of Monmouthshire, will be sorely missed, as a friend of many and a true gentleman who had time for everyone.
